An extremely good value filly who was purchased very well. Hellbent is doing a good job early on in his career with his fillies, and I expect them to be better as older horses. This filly is from one of the best producing farms in Australia in Yarraman Park. This is the farm that stand both Hellbent and his sire I Am Invincible. I love buying yearlings out of Stravinsky mares, he is a top-notch broodmare sire and supplied us with our Group 2 winning race filly Savanna Amour. This filly is very strong everywhere and has substance, good bone, quality and intelligence. She was a beautiful walking filly at the sales and that has translated into a very nice action in the paddock. At this price, she is a fantastic punt and I like her more every time I see her. She may prove to be a steal. First foal of the mare Santero is now a Melbourne metro winner.

Hellbent was purchased by Yarraman Park to follow in the footsteps of his sire I Am Invincible. That was a big vote of confidence in the horse at the time, and the indications are very good that he will make it commercially. Important to note Hellbent didn’t race until he was a late 2yo, whilst he trained right on to win his Group 1 as a 5yo. I liked his first crop yearlings last year, and I was happy to secure one from his second crop as I expect him to close of his season well. Hellbent has served consistently large books with 182, 156, 154 and most recently, 148 mares last season. That indicates to me good confidence by breeders and the market with no soft spots. Early in the season Hellbent as two stakes placed fillies in Miss Hellfire and Bohemian Daisy, as well as Group 3 placed colt Warby.

This filly is Danehill free. That’s a big plus come time when we sell her as a broodmare. Four outstanding sires on her page in Stavinsky, Rory’s Jester, Scenic and Christmas Tree. Stravinsky is the broodmare sire of 14 individual Gr 1 winners including Lankan Rupee, Russian Revolution and Mosheen. Stravinsky operates at close to 70% winners to runners as a broodmare sire. Miss Twin Peaks is the dam of one foal to race for one winner in the recent Melbourne city winner Santero (4yo m Hallowed Crown) (3 wins 9 placings 14 starts). Her next two foals are at the time of writing are unraced, both prepared by Matt Cumani for the same owners in Regal Celeste (2yo f Dundeel) and Twin Perfection (3yo c Nicconi). This suggests to me that the 3yo has shown ability, prompting the owners to buy the half sister.
